Our referendum projects continue to move forward with steady momentum and exciting visible progress across the district. Weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings remain focused on reviewing construction updates, addressing in-progress project needs, and planning for the next phase of facility improvements scheduled for 2026.
Central Fieldhouse Project
At West Allis Central, great progress is being made as we approach our anticipated “soft opening” for the basketball game on November 26, with a grand opening celebration planned for mid-January.
Recent milestones include:
- Completion of steel structural support work
- Installation of roof curbs for HVAC rooftop units
- Nearly complete ductwork and interior painting
- Basketball hoops and athletic equipment currently being installed
- Wood flooring installation beginning shortly
- Exterior concrete work completed at the main entrance
Each week brings us one step closer to seeing this incredible new facility come to life for our students and community.
Looking Ahead: 2026 Projects
Planning is also well underway for the next round of referendum projects slated for 2026. Initial architectural designs are complete for the upcoming bathroom renovations at Irving, Pershing, Hale and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Additionally, HVAC engineering meetings continue to map out boiler and air conditioning upgrades for these same schools. Across the district, plans are also being developed for upgrades to public address systems, security cameras, elevators, and concrete/tuckpointing work. Each step is being designed to enhance safety, accessibility and comfort in our learning environments.
We are proud of the continued progress being made through the support of our community and look forward to sharing more updates as these exciting projects move ahead.
